Helen Levy

Research Professor at the Institute for Social Research, the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, and the School of Public Health

Dr.┬áLevy is a Research Professor at the Institute for Social Research, the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, and the School of Public Health. Her research focuses on economic aspects of health care reform both nationally and in the state of Michigan. She also studies the economics of aging, poverty, and material hardship among retirees. She is a co-Investigator on the Health and Retirement Study, a nationally representative longitudinal study of older Americans’ health and economic well-being, and a Faculty Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. She served from 2010-2011 as a senior economist at the White House Council of Economic Advisers, focusing on the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.
