Pinghui Wu is a postdoctoral research fellow at Poverty Solutions. Her research interests are in poverty and mobility, with a focus on how disadvantaged workers adjust to macroeconomic changes and the inequality in environmental hazards. At Poverty Solutions, she engages in initiatives ranging from workforce development in the city of Detroit, flooding risk analysis for poor communities in the U.S., to projects examining the cyclical decline in labor force participation rates. Wu received a joint doctoral degree in economics and social work from the University of Michigan. She also holds master’s degrees in economics and social work from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Social Work degree from National Taiwan University.
