
Anant Nyshadham
Associate Professor of Business Economics and Public Policy
Anant Nyshadham is an associate professor for business economics and public policy and a Buzz and Judy Newton Faculty Fellow at the University of Michigan. He is a faculty research fellow of the National Bureau of Economic Research, a research affiliate of the International Growth Centre, and an affiliate of the Montreal Partnership for Human Resource Management. Nyshadham also is the co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer of the Good Business Lab, a nonprofit seeking to promote investment in worker welfare as a business imperative.
His recent work focuses on enterprise, firm, and worker characteristics and decision-making (e.g., labor contracting, worker training, managerial quality) and the resulting performance dynamics, particularly in developing countries. On these topics, he has on-going and completed field work in the U.S., Mexico, Kenya, Tanzania, Colombia, and India. Other projects undertake empirical microeconomic analyses of individual and household decisions and behaviors regarding health, schooling and sectoral choice. His broad research interests lie in development, organization, personnel, and health.
