Megan Hague Angus
Managing Director
Megan Hague Angus is the managing director of Poverty Solutions at the University of Michigan. In this role, she supports and advances the initiative’s mission to partner with communities and policymakers to prevent and alleviate poverty. Specifically, Angus works with the directors to oversee the development of new research, support ongoing projects, foster internal and external partners, and manage the day-to-day operations.
Prior to joining Poverty Solutions, Angus spent 18 years at Mathematica, a leading social policy research firm, where she served as a project director and supervisor. She contributed to dozens of research and evaluation efforts, with a focus on qualitative and implementation studies. Her work spans several topic areas — including early childhood education, education reform, and workforce development — with a central focus on learning from programs that support children and families.
As a project leader, she fostered partnerships with federal, city, foundation, and state agencies, and led place-based initiatives in Detroit in collaboration with philanthropic partners to develop action-oriented research.
Master’s degree in educational policy studies, University of Wisconsin–Madison; bachelor’s degree in sociology and religious studies, University of Pennsylvania.
