Carina Gronlund

Carina Gronlund is an environmental epidemiologist and research associate professor at the University of Michigan Institute for Social Research and the School of Public Health. With community and government partners, she characterizes how social, economic, health, and built environment characteristics and air quality affect vulnerability to extreme heat, extreme precipitation, and pollen. She also assesses interventions to reduce exposure to these natural hazards. This research will help communities and policy makers understand how to adapt to heat, heat waves, higher pollen levels, and heavy rainfall.
