
John Bulat
Data and Policy Analyst
John Bulat is a data and policy analyst at Poverty Solutions. His work focuses primarily on the opioid crisis in Michigan and criminal justice-related topics. Prior to working at Poverty Solutions, John spent eight years at the Center for Urban Studies at Wayne State University, working closely with the Wayne State and Detroit Police Departments on the Center’s Urban Safety initiatives. This work included analyzing crime report trends in each of the city’s precincts and leading Community CompStat Meetings which brought together community, non-profit, business, and law enforcement partners in a collaborative effort to reduce crime.
John holds both a bachelor’s degree in English and a Master of Public Administration (Urban Policy) from Wayne State University and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Political Science (Urban Politics and Policy) at Wayne State University.
