Julia Weinert

Managing Director

Julia Weinert works closely with the Poverty Solutions director and leadership team to shape the initiative’s vision and strategy. She oversees the development of new research, programs, outreach efforts, and daily operations, ensuring alignment with the initiative’s mission to create actionable change. Previously, Weinert served as the managing director of the Detroit Community-Academic Urban Research Center, where she spearheaded collaborative efforts between community organizations, government agencies, and health service providers to reduce health inequities in Detroit. In this role, she championed community-based participatory research, fostering partnerships that translated research into meaningful policy and practice. Before that, Weinert was based in San Francisco as a research and evaluation consultant at Change Lab Solutions and a research study coordinator at Kaiser Permanente. She holds a bachelor’s degree in microbiology and a master of public health in health behavior and health education from the University of Michigan, both of which laid the foundation for her commitment to using data and evidence-based solutions to promote socioeconomic health and well-being.
