Amiyatosh Purnanandam

Professor of Finance and Chair of Finance, Ross School of Business

Dr. Purnanandam is a professor of finance at the Ross School of Business. His research covers a wide range of topics in financial intermediation and corporate finance. His recent research work is mostly related to banking, subprime crisis, and mortgage finance. These papers analyze causes and consequences of financial crisis, access to banking services for poor and minority consumers, and measurement and reporting of risk in the banking sector. He is especially interested in studying the role of financial regulation and markets in promoting financial inclusion and growth in minority and low income areas.

His research has been published in leading journals such as Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, Review of Finance, and Journal of Monetary Economics. He currently serves as an Editor of Review of Finance and Associate Editor of Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial Intermediation, Journal of Banking and Finance, and International Review of Finance.
