  • The Child Tax Credit: What You Need to Know The new Child Tax Credit is worth $3,000 per year, per child ages 6–17 and $3,600 per year, per child under 6 years old. It will be paid out in regular payments, not once a year. If you have children under 18, you may be eligible even if you do not usually file taxes or have low/no earnings.
